VASER® LipoSelection
VASER® LipoSelection is a specialized minimally invasive liposuction technique that can remove excess fat and tighten skin in one procedure. VASER® technology selectively targets and extracts unwanted fat cells, leaving the connective tissue and nerves intact; this helps patients experience minimal discomfort and faster recoveries than those undergoing traditional liposuction. In addition to removing fat cells, the VASER® Lipo system also encourages skin retraction to produce a gradual firming effect. At Asaadi Plastic Surgery, we offer VASER® LipoSelection for patients looking to address stubborn fat pockets around the abdomen, thighs, hips, legs, arms, neck, and more. VASER® Lipo can also be used to complement the results of other body contouring procedures, including body lift surgery, abdominoplasty, thigh lift surgery, or arm lift surgery.
What Is VASER® LipoSelection?
VASER® LipoSelection technology generates ultrasound energy using a small probe, or cannula. During your lipo treatment, a local anesthetic solution mixed with lidocaine and epinephrine is administered. Next, incisions are made at the treatment site. The VASER® cannula is then inserted beneath the skin through the incision and transmits sound energy to underlying fat cells. As unwanted fat is exposed to ultrasound energy, it is gradually liquefied. These fat cells are then gently suctioned from the body quickly and easily without disrupting the surrounding connective tissues that are critical to ensuring skin retraction and smoothness.

What Can I Expect Before My VASER® LipoSelection Procedure?
VASER® LipoSelection patients will have their health and medical history carefully examined by Dr. Asaadi when considering liposuction. Patients looking to smooth, enhance, and contour the body may be ideal candidates for VASER® Lipo. However, VASER® LipoSelection is not a means for weight loss. Patients should not be morbidly obese and should possess firm, elastic skin.
Our staff will provide pre-care guidelines in order to best prepare for your VASER® liposuction procedure. You may be required to limit certain medications, supplements, foods, or beverages prior to your treatment. VASER® Lipo patients should arrange for a friend or family member to escort them to their liposuction surgery. Dr. Asaadi also suggests that you plan to take a few days to rest immediately following liposuction. Additional instructions will be discussed during your in-person consultation at our office.
What Can I Expect After My VASER® Lipo Procedure?
Some mild swelling or bruising is expected immediately following VASER® LipoSelection. Additionally, some discomfort around the treatment site may be present. These symptoms should subside after a week or so. Dr. Asaadi can also prescribe medication to reduce these side effects. Your stitches will be removed within the first few weeks of recovery.
All liposuction patients should avoid any strenuous activity for a few weeks; this includes exercise and housework. Generally, VASER® LipoSelection patients experience less downtime than those who undergo traditional liposuction and can expect to return to their daily activities sooner; this is due to VASER® Lipo’s minimally invasive techniques that result in less bruising and swelling. However, each recovery is different. Dr. Asaadi and our staff are on hand to help answer any post-care questions you may have.
VASER® LipoSelection can achieve long-lasting body sculpting results.
