Setting the Record Straight on New York Facelifts

Many people in New York and New Jersey have heard about so-called “miracle” facelift procedures that promise outstanding results in under an hour. Unfortunately, there are no miracle shortcuts for a proper facelift. In fact, NY and NJ patients looking for a “magic bullet” facelift may just wind up shooting themselves in the foot. That’s because, once the swelling goes down, many people are disappointed in the results, finding that they look no younger than they did before the procedure. In order to get real results, a face lift has to entail more than just skin tightening, according to leading NY and NJ plastic surgeon, Dr. Mokhtar Asaadi.
Dr. Asaadi says, “You must make changes to the underlying structures of the face, including facial fat and facial muscles, in order to get noticeable and lasting results.” While cosmetic injectables and laser resurfacing can temporarily improve some of the signs of aging, there’s no substitute for a traditional facelift. A facelift can correct many of the effects of aging and gravity, including loose skin, excess fatty deposits, and sagging muscle structure, with results that may last as long as 10 years.
Facelift is a significant surgery that should be performed by a qualified and experienced physician in a safe environment under proper anesthesia. Dr. Asaadi cautions patients that there are no “miracle cures” that can erase the signs of aging in just 30 minutes. Just like with anything else, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
