The abdominals are one of the most troublesome areas for those trying to sculpt a firm physique. Even after consistently watching what you eat and training hard at the gym, those final layers of flab around the stomach may remain; whether this is due to factors such as age, genetics, or the effects of pregnancy depends on the individual patient. However, there are various body contouring solutions that can tighten abdominal muscles and remove excess skin from around the midsection in order to sculpt a flatter, firmer tummy.
Tummy Tuck
A tummy tuck, also known as abdominoplasty, can surgically tighten abdominal muscles by removing excess skin and fat around the stomach and repositioning stomach muscles to create a firm abdominal wall. Tummy tucks are ideal for patients struggling to lose those remaining layers of stubborn belly fat, even after consistent diet and exercise. Additionally, women who have endured pregnancy often have stretched stomach muscles that cannot be tightened through traditional methods. Tummy tuck surgery can tighten these areas for a firmer stomach and waistline to provide long-lasting results.
CORE Abdominoplasty
Patients suffering from loose or stretched abdominal muscles may benefit from CORE Abdominoplasty. This surgical procedure can result in a firmer abdominal profile by combining a tummy tuck with a unique technique known as the “Table Tilt Test.” During this portion of the CORE Abdominoplasty procedure, Dr. Asaadi will raise the operating table to a 45° angle in order to identify and correct any bulging that may occur when the patient is upright. The CORE Abdominoplasty technique allows for more precise results than traditional abdominoplasty procedures in which the patient is simply lying flat. Women who have stretched stomach muscles as a result of pregnancy, as well as patients whose abdominal muscles have weakened over time, can benefit from CORE Abdominoplasty.
MAsterTuck
MAsterTuck is a specialized truncal liposuction procedure targeting the abdominals, flanks, and back. MAsterTuck can effectively remove small pockets of localized fat while also tightening skin all in one procedure. MAsterTuck utilizes the VASER® LipoSelection system to separate fat cells for removal. VASER® is a minimally invasive form of liposuction—making MAsterTuck an ideal liposuction option for patients looking to minimize downtime and recovery after undergoing their body contouring procedure. Those looking to eliminate stubborn layers of fat or flabby skin from the belly, flanks, or back, can opt for MAsterTuck to achieve significant skin tightening and fat removal results.

Are you struggling to lose those last few areas of stubborn body fat? For many, traditional fat loss methods like diet and exercise may not be enough to achieve optimal curves. Certain factors, including age and genetics, may play a part in slower weight loss for particularly troublesome areas, like the abdomen, flanks, thighs, and arms—resulting in excess body fat and love handles that won’t seem to go away, despite plenty of exercise. Today, the ways to recapture tone and definition are more advanced than ever. Plastic surgeons no longer need to rely on traditional liposuction to help patients firm their physique. Minimally invasive options, such as VASER® LipoSelection, are advanced liposuction techniques that can remove pockets of fat while tightening skin.
How It Works
VASER® LipoSelection uses ultrasound technology to gently transmit energy to the affected area in order to separate fat cells and remove them from the body. VASER® LipoSelection is minimally invasive and selectively targets fat, while avoiding excess damage to surrounding tissues and nerves. As a result, most patients experience little pain and less overall downtime than more invasive liposuction procedures.
Skin Tightening In Addition To Fat Removal
Minimal damage to the connective tissues allows for skin tightening to occur in the weeks following your LipoSelection procedure. These tissues begin to contract—resulting in firm, smooth-looking skin, in addition to your fat removal results.
Target Fat Anywhere
Another benefit of VASER® LipoSelection is its versatility. The gentleness of the LipoSelection procedure allows for the targeting of more delicate areas. The VASER® system can target fat anywhere on the body, including the face and neck, arms, legs, breasts, and abdomen.
Ideal Candidates For LipoSelection
The ideal LipoSelection candidate will be relatively close to their target weight. Patients who are looking to enhance contours, remove fat from large areas, and treat multiple areas of the body are generally considered candidates for VASER® LipoSelection. Our NJ plastic surgeon will evaluate your goals and help create a treatment plan that’s best for you.
Dr. Asaadi and our staff welcome any questions you may have about VASER® LipoSelection, as well as any of our other body contouring procedures. Contact our New Jersey office at 973.731.7000, or you may request an appointment online today!

As we approach the middle of winter, the warm summer seems so far away. Before you know it, however, it’ll be time to hit the beach and show off your physique. Why not begin your quest for that summer body ahead of time? Many patients take advantage of the winter season, as you’ll need multiple layers of clothes to ward off the cold weather and these layers can help hide healing during recovery.
One way to get your body ready for summer is MAsterTuck. MAstertuck is a patented body sculpting procedure performed exclusively by Dr. Asaadi using the VASER® Lipo System. MAstertuck tackles excess fat deposits in stubborn areas. While other bodysculpting procedures rely on invasive incisions to remove excess skin, MAstertuck allows for significant skin retraction without the cuts—leaving the area with a smooth shape and scar-free surface.
How Do I Know if MAsterTuckSM is Right for Me?
MAstertuck should not be seen as a method to remove large areas of fat. Instead, the ideal candidate will have localized fatty areas that have persisted despite maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Such areas may include the abdominals, back, and flanks. MAstertuck is usually performed in under four hours and requires no excision of excess skin! This procedure has a very high patient satisfaction rate.
Dr. Asaadi and our staff at Asaadi Plastic Surgery welcome any questions you may have about our MAsterTuck procedure. Contact our New Jersey office at 973.731.7000, or you may request an appointment online today!

What are the risks of plastic surgery? Is it right for me? Are there less-invasive options? These are all commonly asked questions by patients looking to enhance their look before undergoing plastic surgery. While some patients believe plastic surgery is too invasive and fear “going under the knife”, there are many options that can cosmetically enhance your appearance with less downtime and less risks, yet still achieve beautiful results.
The goal of plastic surgery is always to look and feel natural. Today, plastic surgeons have taken advantage of the advancements of dermal fillers to create non-surgical results that can transform your look as stunningly as traditional plastic surgery. One method that has helped surgeons achieve these results is through fat grafting.
Fat grafting is a less invasive option to traditional surgery but more permanent than cosmetic injectables. Depending on your targeted treatment area, you may smooth wrinkles, eliminate under eye bags, and add volume to breasts or buttocks.
How does fat grafting work?
During fat grafting, your plastic surgeon will extract your body’s very own, natural fat. Fat grafts are commonly taken from the love handles, flanks, stomach, or thighs using gentle liposuction to preserve the fat cells. There are many pros and cons to fat grafting, and your plastic surgeon should work with you to determine if fat grafting is a preferable treatment for you versus traditional cosmetic injectables and dermal fillers.
Considerations:

Because fat transfer uses your body’s natural fat, it reduces the chance of allergic reaction.
|
May require multiple sessions to achieve your desired look.
|
Long lasting, natural and safe.
|
Fat cells do not always survive.
|
Non-invasive.
|
Fat transfer to the breasts may interfere with mammogram testing-requiring further testing.

What can fat grafting be used for?
Wrinkle Treatment: Fat grafting can smooth wrinkles by filling in deep to moderate creases. Fat grafting may also fill sunken or hollow areas for a younger, more natural-looking appearance.
Natural Breast Enhancement: When undergoing breast enhancement, patients have many different implant options to choose from. In some cases, you may choose to opt for natural breast enhancement which uses your own natural fat. Natural breast augmentation can correct breast asymmetry, add additional contouring, and also increase breast size. Learn more about fat grafting for breast augmentation.
Butt Augmentation: Fat transfer to the buttocks is a great way to produce natural-looking curves, correct symmetry and increase size.
Dr. Asaadi stresses that patients should seek a plastic surgeon who is experienced in advance liposuction methods for fat removal. Your plastic surgeon should be sophisticated in fat grafting techniques to help ensure maximum fat survival. While fat grafting is less invasive and reduces the risk of allergic reactions, some patients may be better suited for traditional cosmetic fillers.
