Rhinoplasty is cosmetic surgery to change the shape of your nose. While it is one of the most commonly performed plastic surgery procedures, it is also among the most difficult. Rhinoplasty surgery can be performed to change the size of the nose, shape of the bridge or tip, span of the nostrils, or angle of the nose and upper lip. In many cases, cosmetic rhinoplasty can be combined with functional nasal surgery to repair a deviated septum or improve a patient’s ability to breathe easily through the nose.
When you’re considering rhinoplasty, it is important to do the necessary research. Finding a qualified, experienced plastic surgeon who is willing to listen to what you’re looking for and help you achieve those results will help ensure a positive rhinoplasty outcome that offers an improvement to the way you look and feel about yourself. Dr. Asaadi is a board certified plastic surgeon who has years of experience in performing rhinoplasty procedures.
There are two ways to perform rhinoplasty surgery. The traditional method, or “closed” rhinoplasty, is when a small incision is made inside the nose to restructure the bone and cartilage while the skin remains in place. “Open” rhinoplasty is when the skin is lifted off the nose in order for the bone and cartilage underneath to be reshaped. Open rhinoplasty is considered to give the surgeon more control during the procedure, but a skilled plastic surgeon will be able to deliver a good rhinoplasty result with either method. Depending on your individual case, Dr. Asaadi may recommend one method over the other to achieve the best result for your rhinoplasty surgery.
In addition to being one of the most commonly performed cosmetic procedures among American adults, rhinoplasty is also a frequently requested procedure by adolescents. While rhinoplasty can be safely performed on teenagers, many plastic surgeons prefer not to operate on teenagers until after they've completed their growth spurt. While it varies by individual, rhinoplasty can usually be performed around the age of 14 or 15 for girls and a year or so later for boys. When dealing with teenage rhinoplasty patients, Dr. Asaadi takes care to consider the patient’s social and emotional adjustment. He will work with the teen to make sure they understand the procedure and the projected outcome.

Are you tired of your droopy upper eyelids? Does puffiness under your eyes make you look tired, even when you’re not? If you’ve answered yes to either (or both!) of these questions, you may be a good candidate for blepharoplasty, or cosmetic surgery to remove excess skin and tissue from the upper or lower eyelids. Leading cosmetic surgeon Dr. Mokhtar Asaadi performs upper and lower blepharoplasty in his New York and New Jersey plastic surgery offices.
Eyelid surgery can be used to correct droopy upper eyelids and puffy, sagging lower eyelids – characteristics that can make you look years older than you really are. For some people, droopy or puffy eyelids are the result of genetics. For others, they can be caused by environmental factors. Stress, happiness, sadness, and fatigue can all have an impact on the skin around your eyes.
Upper blepharoplasty typically involves the removal of excess skin and fat. Lower blepharoplasty is often more complex and involves the removal, reshaping, and tightening of the skin and tissue. With any blepharoplasty procedure, Dr. Asaadi strives to provide his patients with natural, youthful looking results.
The best candidates for blepharoplasty are in good overall health and have realistic expectations following surgery. To learn more about blepharoplasty surgery, please visit Dr. Asaadi’s website or call 973-731-7000 to schedule a private consultation in our New York or New Jersey locations.

In recent years, abdominoplasty (commonly called a “tummy tuck”) has continued to grow in popularity. According to the ASAPS Cosmetic Surgery National Data Bank, abdominoplasty was one of the top five most frequently performed cosmetic surgical procedures in 2010. Unfortunately, many patients are unsatisfied with the results of traditional abdominoplasty.
According to top New York plastic surgeon Dr. Mokhtar Asaadi, this is because traditional abdominoplasty is performed while the patient is lying flat, with their stomach muscles completely stretched. Performing the abdominoplasty procedure while a patient is in this position makes it nearly impossible for a surgeon to detect any muscle bulging that may occur once the patient is upright. In order to provide his patients optimal post-abdominoplasty results, Dr. Asaadi has developed CORE Abdominoplasty℠.
With CORE Abdominoplasty℠, Dr. Asaadi has created a new, more effective approach to tightening the abdominal muscles. While the patient is still under general anesthesia, Dr. Asaadi raises the back of the operating table to a 45 degree position. This is what Dr. Asaadi calls the “Table Tilt Test,” which allows him to detect any additional bulging while the abdominal muscles are still fully relaxed. Ultimately, the “Table Tilt Test” used during CORE Abdominoplasty℠ allows for more precise tightening of the abdominal muscles, giving patients better results than traditional abdominoplasty.
.
According to Dr. Asaadi, CORE Abdominoplasty℠ can help women whose stomach muscles have become weak and stretched during pregnancy get back to their pre-baby bodies. While it is most commonly performed on female patients, it can also be an effective treatment for men with excess abdominal fat.
Dr. Asaadi is excited to offer patients with weakened abdominal muscles or excess skin in the tummy area a smoother, flatter stomach using CORE Abdominoplasty℠. The results of CORE Abdominoplasty℠ can last a lifetime if paired with a sensible diet and exercise.
The best candidates for CORE Abdominoplasty℠ are in good overall health and do not have large amounts of excess fat in the stomach area. To learn more about Dr. Asaadi’s revolutionary CORE Abdominoplasty℠ procedure, call 973-731-7000 to schedule a private consultation in our New York or New Jersey locations.
