The muscles of the neck begin to loosen with age. As these muscle fibers become lax, they have a tendency to sag. This drooping effect can cause aesthetic concerns, including the unsightly condition known as “turkey neck.” At Asaadi Plastic Surgery in New Jersey, Dr. Asaadi is dedicated to correcting aesthetic conditions to improve your look, health, and well-being.
We want you to feel confident in your appearance! That’s why Dr. Asaadi offers the Corset Platysmaplasty procedure for tightening laxity in the neck.
A Corset Platysmaplasty is the most effective surgery for correcting neck muscles associated with aging. Unlike traditional neck lift procedures, this treatment tightens your neck muscles in addition to removing excess skin and fat!
The tightening effect creates a more defined and lasting profile immediately, as you are shaping the very foundation of your neck. The Corset Platysmaplasty procedure offers fast results, and you can see the transformation as soon as you leave treatment! Noticeable results continue for one to three months.

Migraine headaches are extremely painful. Symptoms like sudden pain, intense nausea, and vomiting can last for hours during an attack. Not only do these headaches cause physical pain, but they also affect your daily life—disrupting your plans at any given moment.
Here at Asaadi Plastic Surgery, we are dedicated to finding innovative solutions that improve your quality of life and inspire confidence in yourself. Dr. Asaadi’s pressure test is designed to properly diagnose the cause of your migraine so an individualized and effective treatment plan can be applied.
During the pressure test, Dr. Asaadi will test four trigger points on your face: your two temples, the area above your eyebrow, and your nose. In order to do so, a saline solution will be injected into these pressure points. If you develop a headache after the injection, this determines that pressure to the surrounding nerves is causing your migraine.
After diagnosing the cause of your migraine, Dr. Asaadi can then treat the surrounding muscles to release pressure on that nerve and prevent future migraines from occurring. The following patient was suffering from severe migraines twice a month, in addition to daily headaches. She also experienced frequent nausea and vomiting as a result. After visiting Dr. Asaadi and undergoing a pressure test, she received proper treatment that cured her of her migraines! You can view her story below:
Dr. Asaadi and our staff welcome any questions you may have about our pressure test, as well as the proper treatment needed to relieve migraines or headaches. Contact our New Jersey office at 973.731.7000, or you may request an appointment online today!

Diagnosing malar bags and festoons can be extremely difficult. These conditions, also known as severe under-eye bags, are persistent and problematic; they can prevent you from feeling confident in your appearance and expressing your true emotions. Luckily, Dr. Asaadi has developed a system for testing the source of these troublesome facial issues using Botox injections!
The Botox Test
Dr. Asaadi's Botox Test is designed to diagnose the causes of malar bags and festoons. Since these conditions can have multiple causes, it is crucial to know what’s creating them in order to formulate a proper treatment plan. By injecting Botox into the muscle around the eyes (known as the orbicularis oculi), Dr. Asaadi can indicate whether your condition is being caused by excess fat or by a loss of tightness and tone in the muscle. If your festoons or malar bags worsen after the injection, this indicates that aging in the muscle has led to laxity around the eyes and upper cheeks. However, if the Botox injection doesn’t alter the appearance of your malar bags or festoons, then your condition is being caused by localized fat. Upon diagnosing the cause of your issue, Dr. Asaadi can then formulate a treatment plan.
Festoons and malar bags can be extremely troublesome issues. They can strip you of your confidence and make you self-conscious about your appearance. Dr. Asaadi is dedicated to finding innovative methods to fit your individual needs. What works for one patient may not be the solution for another. Dr. Asaadi strives to make every patient feel comfortable in his or her own skin. The Botox Test is another step in ensuring you receive the proper treatment for your condition.
Dr. Asaadi and our staff welcome any questions you may have about malar bags and festoons, as well as our Botox treatments. Contact our New Jersey office at 973.731.7000, or you may request an appointment online today!

One important factor to consider when undergoing a facelift is the presence of malar mounds or festoons. Malar mounds and festoons are areas of puffiness above the cheeks and nose and below the eyelids. Though they are not extremely well-known conditions, they are very common in patients requesting facelifts and can create problems post-surgery if not properly addressed beforehand. If a facelift is performed without proper diagnosis, patients may not see the results they had hoped for; this is because even after the facelift procedure is complete, the mound or festoon is still present under the skin. Most surgeons find the removal of these conditions to be extremely difficult and, in some cases, impossible. However, Dr. Asaadi has a new and unique approach to dealing with these conditions in order to ensure patients who are undergoing facelifts achieve the best results.
They are two possible reasons for the appearance of festoons and malar mounds; one is that the muscles around your eyes have become lax with age. The other possible cause is due to fat deposits around the eyes. Once a festoon or malar mound is properly diagnosed, Dr. Asaadi will then determine the cause of the condition—whether it be muscle laxity or the presence of fat deposits. If fat pockets are to blame, Dr. Asaadi will surgically remove the fat from beneath the skin. If muscle laxity is the underlying cause of your condition, then Dr. Asaadi will release ligaments within the muscle and remove part of the lax muscle while attaching the rest to a more stable area below the eyelid.
Though many surgeons may find removing festoons or malar mounds troublesome, Dr. Asaadi ensures that these conditions can be corrected if properly diagnosed and planned for. Once removed, patients will finally be able to enjoy the anticipated results of their facelift.
Dr. Asaadi and our staff welcome any questions you may have about malar mounds and festoons, as well as our facelift procedure. We also offer many other facial rejuvenation procedures. Contact our New Jersey office at 973.731.7000, or you may request an appointment online today!

Here at Asaadi Plastic Surgery, we aim to find new and innovative ways to help you look younger and feel more confident in your appearance. Dr. Asaadi is a pioneer in the field of plastic surgery and is constantly improving upon surgical techniques to produce better, more natural-looking results. His unique procedure—the wedge excision for the lower lip—is a unique method of plastic surgery. The excision is meant to correct the loss of tone to help those suffering from an ectropion of the lower lip.
Patients who have display an ectropion of the lower lip often have difficulty speaking, eating, smiling and feeling normal. The wedge excision can address these physical and emotional issues, thus improving your overall confidence in yourself, as well as your quality of life.
When an ectropion of the lip occurs, the inside of the bottom lip points outward, instead of inward. In order to correct this ectropion, Dr. Asaadi will create a wedge excision in the middle of the lower lip; this will turn the lip back inward to its proper position on the face.
The wedge excision is done under local anesthesia and the recovery time is minimal—lasting only a few days. The scar will fade over time and is hardly visible after three weeks, so you will enjoy a shapely lip without extensive downtime or noticeable scarring.
Dr. Asaadi and our staff welcome any questions you may have about your condition, and we can help determine if the wedge excision procedure for the lower lip can address your facial deformity. We also offer many other facial rejuvenation procedures. Contact our New Jersey office at 973.731.7000, or you may request an appointment online today!
